digikam-doc software package provides handbook for digiKam, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install digikam-doc
digikam-doc is installed in your system.
Make ensure the digikam-doc package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep digikam-doc *
You will get with digikam-doc package name, version, architecture and description in a table
